For many companies, adding on a foreign language is the last part of the channel-making enterprise. But not for us.

Languages are at the heart of our operation from the very beginning, part of the seamless process of planning through to playout. From the moment a programme is chosen, the various language versions are also put in train, wherever in the world they may be produced.

We call this the TVT Language Hub, a global system of commissioning, checking, voicing (or sub-titling) and rechecking language versions from a dozen companies, while other channel building processes are carried out.

Our Chiswick facility provides the ideal platform to traffic media, transcripts, audio and subtitle files anywhere around the world. TVT can ensure all the elements of a foreign versioning project come together seamlessly and cost effectively under one roof.

Localisation

In addition to our own foreign language staff, TVT has close relationships with translation partners and associates across the globe, giving us access to a large number of trusted sources at preferential rates.

Translation and Voice Over

Our longest running operation is providing Japanese translation for BBC World. Live news bulletins are simultaneously translated and dubbed into Japanese in both our London and Tokyo studios; documentaries and long form programmes are pre-recorded or subtitled. We have also provided translation and voice-over in Greek, Taiwanese and Latin American Spanish for BBC World and Arabic for BBC Arabic TV. Currently we are producing Farsi dubbed programmes for BBC Persian TV and Polish lectoring and dubbing for BBC Entertainment, Lifestyle, Knowledge and Cbeebies.

Subtitling

TVT have extensive experience in subtitle production and currently have ongoing operations providing Japanese and Persian for the BBC using our custom built subtitling system. We can generate subtitle files to be sent in conjunction with media files or supply embedded or burnt-in options. We are also able to provide live captioning for news bulletins or insert pre-prepared subtitle files into transmission streams.
